Our Mission

The mission of the Brazilian Center for Cultural Exchange of Sacramento is to serve and enrich Sacramento by fostering a thriving and inclusive multicultural community by sharing art, food, music, dance, and performing arts to create cultural awareness, peace, tolerance, and a better world. The Brazilian Center focuses on sharing and promoting appreciation of vibrant Latin American cultures by bringing global cultural experiences and fun to the local community through immersive arts, culinary, and musical events, as well as education. We place a special emphasis on engaging and empowering Sacramento’s young people through youth programming and educational opportunities.

Celebrating Culture. Uniting Communities. Transforming Lives.

The Brazilian Center for Cultural Exchange of Sacramento is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to culture, education, and community empowerment through dance, music, and the arts.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Statement.

At the Brazilian Center for Cultural Exchange of Sacramento, we believe that culture has the power to unite, heal, and transform communities. Since our founding, we have been committed to building a space where every individual—regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, ability, nationality, language, or background—feels seen, valued, and celebrated.

Our work is rooted in the vibrant diversity of Brazil, a nation shaped by Indigenous peoples, African heritage, and global influences. This multicultural foundation guides our commitment to advancing equity and inclusion in all our programs, performances, partnerships, and community outreach. We strive to ensure that our organization represents the rich tapestry of voices we serve.

Equity means more than access—it means actively removing barriers, uplifting underserved communities, and creating opportunities for participation, leadership, and artistic expression. We honor the lived experiences of our community members and remain dedicated to listening, learning, and evolving.

Inclusion is the heartbeat of our mission. We welcome every person with respect, compassion, and cultural dignity. Through dance, music, education, and celebration, we create environments where people from all walks of life can connect, learn, and thrive together.

Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is not a statement—it is a responsibility we uphold daily. Together, we build a community where culture shines, unity grows, and every voice has a place.
